Please advise if single board size throughout, laid in chevron would be acceptable as this would be less work than showing random lengths that would also in general, be ignored on site in favour of actually assessing joint layout and pack optimisation to leave minimal wastage.
If so, cost to draw would be less, and if you could advise on board length/width selected.
We would also suggest a two board wide perimeter inlay laid half stretcher bond parallel to wall, although would mean increased construction cost to mitre in the joint between chevron and perimeter, but give good aesthetic appeal, noting that just going to perimeter of wall, and then cutting and taking that board to other end to start again can be practical, less expensive and then apply a skirting or perimeter bead to hide cut end as normally for expansion 10mm gap between board and perimeter wall is recommended, this being obscured by skirting which is normally projecting 19mm from wall.
