Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Information for the business: Garden Design
Design details: I need help putting my design ideas into a CAD/SketchUp programme for the client to show to landscapers/builders. This is an adaptation of the driveway. The design involves different levels but only within a metre drop, a slope, steps and wall in either brick or York Stone (waiting for client to confirm) with planting amongst bricks/slabs in both wall and ground. Please see below for my initial sketches of ideas that client approved. I have drawn on tracing paper over photo/google satellite image. The client would like the corner in the supporting wall to be more curved. Hope you can get a good idea of what I am after. I would like a plan and probably 2 elevations.
The house is by the river in countryside, it is the clients home with their office in the garden. The driveway is used by family, staff and clients. The clients wanted to look out of their front door and see the garden rather than cars, so they use the garden more. I want the area to feel as though it has always been there, I would like york stone slabs on the ground leading up through the 2 levels to the garden with a dry stone wall (waist height) dividing the garden from the drive and supporting the bank from drive to lawn (70cm-1m). Planting will be soft Erigeron, Aubretias etc, between floor slabs and in the wall. We are waiting for the client to confirm if they would like the hard landscaping in york stone or brick to go with the house.
Ideas for the visual style: English country
Things to avoid: Definitely not modern urban.
Extra notes: This is part of a much larger garden, the client has plans to design and develop the garden over a period of 3 years, it is an interesting site with a large part of the garden on a very steep slope that we hopefully will be able to build a wooden raised walkway snaking across to make the plateau on the top more accessible. The client really likes my ideas that I have presented so far, this is the first stage so it is important these CAD/SketchUp designs look good...which I am not capable of and why I need you!
Our company is a couple of years old, business is starting to grow, projects getting bigger and more ambitious so I need help.
I haven't hired a CAD/SketchUp designer before so do not have a good idea of how long it will take or how much it will cost. Could you give me some idea.
