Description
Experience Level: Expert
I need a simple housing designed ready for 3d printing. If you could print/manufacture the housing then even better, and this could be priced separately. To fit a single Neutrik D series panel mount socket at the front, and a simple curve or angled opposite end. Specifically to fit an ac3mx-w-top, to be installed parallel to the surface. I will drill a hole in the bottom/underside surface of the housing, at the back where the connections will be made, once it is clear where this will need to be, and how big etc.
I have quickly sketched/attached a 2d drawing to show what I'm imagining. Attached also a housing used for cigarette sockets as something similar.
Ideally I want the housing as small and sleek as possible, so that it blends with the connector, and doesn't appear to protrude from the surface too much.
I suspect some machine screws/socket head bolts would be preferred as the surface fixing method. Perhaps flanges on the sides made be required to support this; I've added these to the sketches, but open to better suggestions. External flanges might not bee needed at all, as the housing could be attached with bolts/screws from the inside before the connector is installed potentially. I that case only a couple of holes and countersink for the heads would be required, provided the bottom was thick enough.
An STL file of the part for which the housing is being made for, in addition to the 2d drawings, can be obtained from the Neutrik website: https://www.neutrik.com/en/product/nac3mpx-top.
Happy to answer any questions you might have.
Regards
Sam
