Produce an CAD drawing from a sketch

I have a sketch and a detailed description of an R&D project that we are working on.
It is a simple design suitable for a beginner and this initial design will not be used for critical procurement or built.
However - it should still be an accurate representation of the product and take into account good design practice.
The unit is a flat panel comprised of different materials.
It will incorporate a repeating pattern of 3d structures known as Tesla Valves.
The Tesla Valves should be nested together as efficiently as possible in both x and y directions.
