Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Industry: Technology
Design details: Hi there,
Thanks for taking the time to check out the project.
The project is about creating a smart lift, for 'smart cities.' Please take a look at an example in this video, which will be pretty similar to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KUa8M0H9J5o so it will be a rope-free lift, but it is more about the concept than producing something that will definitely work.
The level does not have to be up to manufacturers standards i.e. nuts bolts e.t.c., but needs to provide a concept for creating multi-directional lifts for future skyscrapers in a 'smart city.'
I have broken the project down into the 3 stages and added a bit more explanation:
1. Creating the lift design
Providing 2 initial concept drawings
Working one of them up in CAD
Creating a smart version, with features that could be expected in a futuristic smart city
Creating in specialist material (i.e. glass)
Adding in a render (inside and outside the lift) so that it looks realistic
2. Adding in motion
Adding in motion up, down and sideways.
Creating rails
Creating skyscraper (potentially just a background)
Showing the motion of lift against a skyscraper (simple kinematic motion)
Adding in a simple render
3. Stress analysis
Performing some simple calculations on Lift (a few nodes only, can be discussed).
Finite Element Modelling (FEM)
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me.
We have until 24th October, so there is enough time to complete a really fantastic working design.
Thanks
Paul
