Description
Experience Level: Expert
We require an experienced HVAC design engineer to support the development of Stage 4–6 design deliverables.
Cost stated is for full stage 4 pack - further stages will be priced as separate projects
The specification and drawing pack will be provided. CAD drafting is already covered, so your focus will be on design calculations, equipment selection, and technical input. An NDA will be required before work commences.
Key tasks:
Heat loss calculations based on information provided (with reasonable assumptions where data is incomplete).
Plant sizing (heat pumps, buffer vessels, ancillaries).
Hydraulic schematics – pump duties, pipe sizing, expansion, safety provisions.
Equipment schedules and performance specifications.
Support for Stage 5 (Construction Issue) drawings and Stage 6 (As Built) updates.
Input into hazard and design risk registers.
Requirements:
Strong understanding of current UK building services standards and conventions.
Demonstrable experience producing mechanical/HVAC design outputs for RIBA Stage 4–6.
Ability to provide calculations, specifications, and schedules in a format suitable for integration into a drawing pack.
Notes:
This role does not include CAD drafting — that is handled in-house.
You will collaborate directly with the lead consultant.
Deliverables must be traceable and calculation-backed.
NDA required.
