Description
Experience Level: Expert
I am looking to produce the next Impact Report for our charity. When applying, please send your quote and examples of previous work on annual reports only.
This is a brief overview of our thoughts currently:
Design:
• We would like to have the option to review a couple of possible design approaches, for both the cover and inside page layouts.
• We would like to freshen up the report’s look and feel for 2018. Naturally we need to link to our existing brand, but can be quite flexible, for example by introducing a wider use of colour.
• 2018 was the year that our charity turned 40, so that will be an underlying theme of the report
• Other key words and phrases for this design work: bold, professional, modern, easy to digest, special edition
• This year we plan to reduce the amount of copy, and would like a design that is image/graphic led - we would like to represent information in an infographic style as much as possible.
• We would be keen to use much of the report as possible on social media. One suggestion for this might be that each set of facing pages be designed in such a way that they could stand alone, and it be possible to download these individually. More simply, we would ask that in addition to the whole report PDF, you supply all of the infographic sections separately as images.
• Document size: before 2016, we produced 28 page A4 reports. Last year, our Impact Report was a 45 page square booklet. We could use format again but we are open to ideas for the best way to display our information in digital and print. For print, it does not even necessarily need to be a booklet.
Audience: Members, corporate partners, healthcare professionals and fundraisers primarily. However, within this audience there will be bereaved families therefore it is vital that the design is impactful, yet with a sensitive tone.
Content: This is being confirmed - we are working across our teams to determine what impacts we wish to reflect in the report. At this stage we really wish to gage the design and print costs, though an approximation of the structure might be as follows:
• Quotation - how Sands has made a difference to the life of an individual
• Contents
• Our journey - achievement timeline
• Foreword from the Chief Executive and the Chair of Trustees
• Recap - mission, vision, purpose, values – capturing the scope of what we do. Overview.
• Achievements:
o To support anyone affected by the death of a baby
Supported individual case study
News (e.g. our new app), stats
o To work to improve bereavement care
Healthcare Professional - case study
News, stats
o To promote research and prevention strategies to reduce the loss of babies’ lives.
Researcher profile and quote
Research we’ve funded, successes, stats
o To raise awareness of the issues relating to stillbirth and neonatal death
Fund/awareness raising case study
Baby Loss Awareness Week, Sands Awareness Month, Fundraisers
o Financial Review
• Looking forward:
o What / why more needs to be done – latest stats
o Key objectives for 2018-2019 – how we’re going to do it
• Thank yous
• Contact information
Deadline for quote: 31 August
Deadline for production: mid October
We hope the above would be sufficient to provide approximate estimates for such a project, but please let us know if you would need any further information at this stage.
I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks for the invite - but given the scope of this work, I would need to see the full brief, including how many and what infographics are required to give an accurate and worthwhile quote. Is that possible?
