Redesign a PSD Cover Template

Redesign the PSD located here:

It is an E-Book Cover Template to be used on over 100 books.

I wish to retain the general layout of this Cover (the location of the elements), but wish to have all of the features refined and as detailed as possible.

I wish to have a background texture for the top half, behind the cut-out. It does not have to follow the cut-out, it must be pleasing to the eye, but understated.

The middle bar where the Author text is located; I wish to have a different design instead of the current floral pattern. Can you think of a better design to go here? Also, I would like some sort of design to ago around this bar; it must not be flashy or over the top.

Finally, I would like the best typographical layout, fonts and presentation for this cover. Do you know better fonts? Also, FX would be good.

In short, as this Cover Template will be re-used indefinitely, I want you to spend time refining it and making it as professional as possible.

I need this Cover as soon as possible, no more than a day.
