KDP Book Formatting & Cover Design

I am looking for an experienced book designer/formatter to prepare the first novel in a new British mystery series for publication through Amazon KDP.

I’m looking for an experienced book formatter/designer to prepare a completed fiction manuscript for Amazon KDP other EPub and print.

The novel is approximately 109,500 words and is a contemporary British village / atmospheric mystery. 667 word pages inc copyright pages

The manuscript is fully edited and ready for production.

Interior formatting

I require:

Paperback formatting for KDP

Preferred trim size around 5.5 × 8.5 inches

Cream paper / black-and-white interior

Professional trade-fiction appearance

Mirrored margins and appropriate gutter

Justified body text

Fiction-style paragraph indentation

Elegant chapter openings

Restrained drop caps

Simple scene breaks

Running headers and page numbers

Reflowable Kindle EPUB

Working ebook navigation / contents

I am looking for something polished and comparable to commercially published fiction rather than a generic template.

Cover design

I also require:

Full-wrap KDP paperback cover

Ebook/front-cover file

A design suitable for an atmospheric British mystery series

I already have several cover mock-ups and visual references showing elements, colours and styles I like and dislike. I can share these with the successful freelancer as a starting point.

The overall direction is sophisticated and atmospheric rather than cartoonish cosy mystery or very dark thriller.

The design should also be capable of developing into a recognisable visual identity for future books in the series. There is a chance for repeat works.

Please include in your proposal

Separate price for formatting and cover design

Number of revisions included
