Book cover for paperback - subject is a memoir

I'm looking for a designed image for front cover because I do not have good quality single photo that fits the time and period covered by my Dad's memoir . The photo that has currently been dropped into the cover by my publisher is from a much later period.

You will need to know how to layer images and fade them so that they create a background for the title. The book title is "Forgotten Days" The subtitle is "Growing up and education in Nigeria's colonial period".
The book starts in the mission school which my Dad's father supervises. It describes education at that time. Finally due to lack of suitable training facilities he is sent to a medical school in post-war London, along with other founder-students of Nigeria's first university, to complete his training as a doctor.

The villages he grew up in were in the West African savanna belt (no acacia trees, please).

You do not need to use all the images but the image you produce should be a suitable background for the title and subtitle and in keeping with the idea of remembering.
The cover is being printed on a high gloss paper.
