Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
Design details: We need two animated banner concepts, which will be applied across a variety of banner dimensions (detailed below). These will be used for Helastel’s display marketing campaigns.
They can take graphical elements and style from the ebooks that we have created recently although should also tie in sufficiently with the website so that it is coherent for people when they click on the ads.
The final ‘slide’ of each banner will contain a simple call-to-action “Speak to Helastel Today”
Concepts:
1) This first concept is to communicate how our bespoke software helps the client.
Helastel, Clever Software
The word clever is than graphically created as an Acronym. Each word phases in and out.
C – custom
L – long-term
E – efficient
V – valuable
E – effective
R – reliable
It’s a simple concept, but a nice way of communicating multiple benefits all at once, in a banner. The focus for design is on great use of typography given that the concept is pretty simple.
2) The second concept will convey the idea of our custom software process serving as a ‘business accelerator’ for clients. The software itself is simply a vehicle for developing and growing your business.
The message ‘ Accelerate your business’ would be the headline. Then the word ‘software’ (or custom software) could then almost behave like a car. Revving it’s engine. The front wheels almost seem to lift off, and then it darts off.
Another potential idea for this is when the screen view is “looking sideways out of a moving vehicle” so you see stuff flashing by. Against this backdrop, words appear (from the left) to keep pace with “you” and then accelerate away into the distance (rightwards) once you’ve read them. The choice of background would need to say something about the journey; not just the words…
Technical details:
File Type - Animated GIFs (potentially Flash too)
File size – 150kb or less
Animation – No more than 30 seconds, usually it’s good to rotate the animation twice, so 15 seconds per sequence
- Slower than 5 frames per Seconds
- Give the key messaging enough time for the user to read
Banner sizes as follows px :
468x60
728x90
250x250
200x200
336x280
300x250
120x600
300x600
970x90
320x100
320x50
970x250
300x1050
Ideas for the visual style: www.helastel.com
Extra notes: We want digital animators who can work in Flash (you may see this as 'action script 2' or 'action script 3') and can do animated gifs (they may not state this is their profile but we can check with them later).
