3D Virtual Gallery Build – "Beyond Canvas"
Overview
I'm seeking an experienced 3D designer to help bring my art exhibition *Beyond Canvas* to life in a virtual gallery format.
The gallery is designed to be an immersive, intimate online experience and will host around 20 symbolic, surrealist, and emotionally resonant paintings—across four themed rooms.
The goal is to create a walkthrough that can be embedded on my website and shared via YouTube and other platforms.
For reference, the current (unfinished) website with temporary images can be seen here: www.beyondcanvas.co.uk
Project Scope
✅ Virtual 3D Gallery Design (4+1 layout):
- Entrance Hall with Welcome Message
- Room 1: Landscapes of the Soul
- Room 2: Stories & Symbols
- Room 3: Nature Remembered
- Room 4: My Daughter’s Sketchbook
- Exit Area with Thank-You Message and Website CTA
✅ Visual Style & Atmosphere:
- Low ambient lighting (inspired by intimate gallery/chapel mood)
- Spotlit artworks
- Deep wall colours (midnight blue, forest green, charcoal)
- Natural or minimalist textures (wood, stone, concrete)
- Optional: subtle ambient soundtrack
✅ Functionality & Features:
- User-navigable (desktop + mobile)
- Mouse-controlled movement or clickable hotspots
- Text/caption pop-ups or placards below each artwork
- Optional video or audio embed support
- Zoom-in on artwork
- Export as web-embeddable experience or video walkthrough
✅ Assets Provided:
- Fully written room-by-room brief with captions and layout
- Final artwork scans (museum-quality giclée print scans)
- Sample welcome and exit messages
- Design direction document (attached as reference)
Ideal Candidate
- Proficient in platforms like Unity, Unreal Engine, Blender, or Enscape
- Has pre-built templates or can quickly build modular gallery spaces
- Familiar with lighting and texture use for mood and realism
- Able to work collaboratively with provided written material and artwork
- Previous experience building virtual art exhibitions (please share examples)
Deliverables
- Final walkthrough (embed-ready or video)
- Still images/rendered views of each room for marketing use
- Optional: source files (if negotiated)
Timeline
- Work ideally begins within 7 days
- First draft within 1–2 weeks
- Final version by 3 weeks
Budget
- Open to proposals based on experience and complexity
- Please include total cost, software used, and delivery format(s)
To Apply
