Description
Experience Level: Entry
This short, high-impact animation visually demonstrates how arc-rated protective fabric reacts to an arc flash incident. Designed for webinar use, the animation clearly shows how the outer (exposed) layer of PPE material chars, while the inner (skin-facing) side remains cool and intact, highlighting the effectiveness of modern arc-rated fabrics.
Initial View (0–1s)
A smooth yellow protective fabric is displayed in a blank background
On-screen label: “Protective Fabric”
Arc Flash Impact (1–3s)
A bright, intense arc flash (electric burst) strikes the front of the fabric.
Visual cue: Screen flashes; fabric blackens in an area
Aftermath View (3–5s)
The front side of the fabric now appears charred/blackened, with glowing ember effects. (showing it is hot)
Emphasizes damage absorption.
Rear View Transition (5–7s)
The fabric rotates or flips to reveal the back side — smooth, clean, and untouched. (showing the back is cool and still in tact)
On-screen label: “Back side remains cool and unharmed”
See the images to see:
- charred example
- yellow fabric texture.
Would recommend watching arc flash video on youtube to see how the glowing flash should be like.
