Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: less than 1 week
Information for the business: Furniture and lighting design
Industry: Art and Design
Design details: I have a floor light fixture rendering that I need done to apply to a design show.
Basic info:
The floor lamp consists of a tripod stand of three ¾” diameter stainless steel tubes polished to a high mirror finish.
Base is a stainless steel plate ¼” thick also mirror finish stainless steel.
The light diffuser is a cluster of mostly ¾” frosted glass tubes with some 1", 1 1/4" , 1/2". and 1/4" tubes. There is a bulb in the center illuminating the glass diffuser from within.
I made a prototype in my studio out of metal tubing.
I took some photos of the prototype and started playing with the diffuser shape by pasting glass tube photos over the tripod and using black marker to “shape” the diffuser.
I had a professional photographer take high res photos of a real glass chandelier I made last year. These photos will make it easier to reproduce the glass effect. It will also give you an idea of how the light looks illuminated from the internal light source. See these Dropbox links:

I will need around 5 images of the light from several angles and will need to make a poster: See this link for an example http://www.showpdx.com/Submissions
The following images will be help;
The prototype model is made up of a tripod of three metal tubes on a plywood stand. On the plywood I drew an outline of the size of the stainless steel base. I took a photo and pasted a photo of glass tubes over the
tripod. Here is a link to this image:

Here is a photo of the cluster of glass in that image.

Here is a screenshot of the first rendering attempt that was made. There are several mistakes. The glass is way too big and just doesn’t look very good.

I corrected the shape of the glass by drawing over it with black marker:

Here are the overall dimensions of the tripod in inches.

I am in a rush. I was supposed to submit this design by May 1. Late submissions are allowed up to May 15th, but the earlier the design gets submitted, the better chance I have of getting into the show.
I'm thinking for this project it might be good for us to have a Skype call to help speed things up.
Let me know what you think.
