Project Artand-8

I designed Project Artand-8 to be built in a flood hazard area on a lot with a south-north orientation. This project is a replica of Project Artand-7 which can be built on a lot with an east-west orientation.

Project Artand-8 has seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, two kitchens and a living room. The wood structure of this project was designed to stand up to a 220 mile per hour wind and strong earthquakes. The roof was designed to be capable to support safely and efficiently a residential green power plant (solar and residential vertical axis wind turbines) of minimum 50kW. This power plant gives to this home total autonomy to function independently from the grid for an unlimited time.

The attic has four master bedrooms and a kitchen and each bedroom is equipped with a refrigerator to be easy for the homeowner to rent the attic through Airbnb as Master Bedrooms.

My goal is to transform the concept how we build our homes from just money and energy consumers to money and energy producers. By using wood structure and synthetic stucco these homes are safe, affordable and energy efficient. My target market is people with low income which became the majority of people globally.

If we will build our homes following this concept the home construction industry can make a difference in how we will produce clean electricity in the future and the home construction industry can be a strong player to reverse the climate change. We know that the electric grid and our cars are the greatest polluters on the earth. Imagine a home which is capable to produce electricity, to be totally powered and to charge the family's electric cars with proper chargers installed in the garage.

We are almost 8 billion people on the earth and we have to eat every day. If climate change is real then it will be harder and harder for the farmers to produce food enough for this large number of people globally. Population migration is already a global problem. In these days we are talking about thousands of people who are migrating but, if climate change is real and the temperature will increase dramatically then billions of people will migrate for food and that migration will produce a global chaos which can end our modern civilization.

Please imagine millions of this kind of homes built globally because climate change isn't just my problem, it is our problem because we must eat every day.
