Description
Please can an architect/engineer with experience with UK building regulations assist me to DECIDE the "conceptional construction details" for the wall, roof and floor construction of a small house?
Please help me decide if this is best in Block, Brick, Steel, SIPS, ICF, Timber framed.
-I would like to have the "sections" designed for the walls, floors and roof -and to know the weights and insulation values for these.
I have a home with architectural drawings, but no construction details... See the attached PDF.
(The home has passed planning, with a "full" planning submission)
Site address: Warwick, midlands.
Important factors to balance for consideration:
# Ease of construction, for the specific site and house design. (See picture)
# Material interactions with beams and foundations (but not going into the scaling detail)
# UK building regulations.
# Insulation for SAP assessment. SAP Assessment done, see attached for target values.
# Cost.
# ... plus anything else you should advise.
The aim of this is to eventually determine the weight/mass of the house, for structural analysis.
Outputs could be a "cut through" drawings (See attached diagram) of the concept, and a table (See pdf) details of the material qualities (weights, sizes)
-Full drawings NOT required; yet.
Thank you kindly,
Scott

Considering the proximity of the sub station to the building, have you had a Stats enquiry sent, as likely route for services out to the main street, if direct could be under your building. Diversion is expensive, also they require an easement. Has all this been considered, or do you need that thought about as could scupper your plans or require solutions to be altered to work around.

What level Professional Indemnity Insurance do you require designers to hold.
Scott H.09 May 2020i do not require designers to have insurance at this conversational point.

Please upload the planning drawings so level of detail can be assessed, and amount of design progression required can be gauged. Although there is a CGI, we would expect to consider the drawings themselves as well.
Scott H.09 May 2020Examples of the level of detail have been shown in the attachments.
At this stage, conversations with me would be more beneficial than the study of plans -so full plans not required to understand scope. CAD files are available when right offer is found.
