Design new brand logo/identity

Need a brand identity for new venture "Grey Matters" which delivers technical engineering designs (electrical bias), known as 'earthing' or 'grounding' if you're from the US. Typically these would be at power stations, substations, wind farms, PV farms, etc. This is an extremely conservative target, so we need something that says "safe hands, cerebral, hi-end technical, competent, etc." but is strong enough to stand out as being refreshingly innovative....and anything but grey (dull).

Target Sectors: Utilities, petrochem, Rail, renewables, engning consultants
Target audience: Stable/compliant types who love the detail and are very analytical
Purpose: to save life and make your project a reality....
How: using latest technologies in a marketplace notorious for not being innovative.
Timescale: immediate - 4wks
Scope/deliverable: logo for use on website, letterhead, cards, reports, CAD, facebook, emails, e.g. all comms.

Initial thoughts: Einstein caricature, brain, grey with accent colour.
