Description
Experience Level: Entry
Estimated project duration: 1 day or less
I have had my intellectual property and complete creative concept for an experiential walk-through museum plagiarised and executed by Agency based in Melbourne and is being exhibited in partnership with The Rocks and The City of Sydney (It is based in the Rocks)
I have records of all my designs, raw files, pitch decks and proof of concept/idea. And a full account of how this happened/who/dates etc and also a document of my original pitch in comparison to their event roll-out
They have used my original copyrighted (2017) concept. They are have taken; The experience name (my working title), full overarching vision, individual concept/mini activation naming and the creative description of what is happening/experiences in each room, creative tag lines.
And the 'visual' aesthetic/look of my rooms- (theirs is a MUCH scaled-down version)
I am a freelance creative director, and if I had created this for a client, it would have been in the range of
$15 000 as it was event 'roll out' ready, or if I was to raise funding with grants and arts funds myself (which I have done many times in the past), it would have been an ongoing earning of ticket sales and corporate sponsorship. This was my business plan for my museum business plan.
The deck was sent out to many art funds/grant boards and corporate sponsorship opportunities so I can't trace back how exactly they got the pitch deck, but they have used it as their business model.
The event short pop up activation on its last week in April in The Rocks Sydney, but their business model takes typically their concepts on tour.
I am looking for advice and assistance on how I can approach this and either stop then using my idea or seek a financial arrangement for my work.
Thank you in advance!
