FTO Freedom To Operate

We seek preliminary counsel from a UK BASED Intellectual Proprety (IP) specialist on conducting a Freedom To Operate (FTO) analysis for an innovative medical technology (HEALTH-TECH) being developed.

Our organisation is engaged in creating a virtual reality software platform aimed at delivering Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy. EMDR is an evidence-based psychotherapy technique used to treat trauma, phobias, and other mental health issues. Our product seeks to employ VR and other digital tools to make EMDR therapy more accessible and effective.

The project is currently in early development stages with backing from Innovate UK. Moving forward, comprehensive analyses of intellectual property landscapes will need vetting to establish freedom to operate. Key areas for examination include relevant patents, copyrights on components like digital assets and system interfaces, assessments of competing or related products, trademark reviews, and more.
