Description
Ive had several apps suspended by Google Play. It was the same app, just free and paid pro version and then a new version made using the feedback they gave on the first suspension.
Each time it was more or less the same reason, which was deceptive behaviour because the app was not funtionally possible.
However I have lots of proof to support counter claims. For example there are several video demonstrations clearly showing the app work and how to use it.
The app is a digital scales app and it is a tool app that allows users to get the estimate of the weight of an object using their phone. Yes it is possible and its based on scientific principles / physics and I have a written algorithm as proof of this.
Steps I have taken:
- Appealed multiple times.
- Hired an ex solicitor who works as on online dispute resolution person. He contacted them but then they fobbed him off after one email.
- Rang Play support who cant do much except tell you they will get back to you
- Live chat - But they help even less.
- Contacted the European Commission to seek help under the DSA / DMA but they say thats not effective until March 2024 - But going by experience pretty sure they'll do jack all against Google.
- Contacted the Competition and marketing authority - no luck
- Sent Google a form to request to take the dispute to an CEDR for third party mediation - But after 5 months they still have not given a decision on it. I need their approval to take it further with the CEDR
I am pursuing this because:
- It was my main source of income
- I had spent months developing it and spent alot on marketing it.
- There was nothing relaly wrong with it in terms of policy breach
- The app does function and I have proof
- It had over 75K active users
- Last version had 1.66K daily users
- It had many in app purchase sales by active users... so users were using the app as intended
- It had hundreds of positive reviews on Facebook and Play Store
Im based in the UK and I am looking for help from someone who has experience and knowledge of dealing with these kind of issue, with the sole aim of reinstating the app. Serious people only.

Have you tried changing the app title and description? Play with the words and explain the possibility to estimate a weight. It may help. They suspended our apps for several times and sometimes we didn't change anything but the words and they removed the suspension.
Riaz F.03 Feb 2024But when they suspend your app you dont have access to the store listing, so how were you able to change the wording to get your app reinstated?
Or do you mean you uploaded a new version of the same app with different wording in the descriptions?Azhar K.03 Feb 2024new version of the same app.

Have you tried changing the title/ description of the App? Try to play with the words. They suspended our app for several times, and sometimes we didn't change anything but the words and they accepted.

Have you tried changing the title/ description of the App, showing examples of other estimators currently listed and resubmitting? Unless you satisfy this requirement, it wil be impossible to have Google change their decision.
Riaz F.01 Feb 2024what do you mean by "showing examples of other estimators currently listed"?
