Description

Hello,
I own my own business and I'm struggling to understand why my accountant is declaring, and has been declaring certain figures to HMRC based around both my dividends taken and self assessment paid as a result. My accountants are avoiding explaining anything to me despite my numerous requests and have now thrown in something called a Directors Loan which has never been mentioned before even though I've been with them for in excess of 10 years.
I would like someone to go through the last 3 years worth (initially) of business accounts with me, explaining what is going on, but ONLY looking at my personal element of what I have been taking and declaring. I do not need the rest of the company accounts looked into.
All my accounts are all run on quickbooks and so must be able to use it.
Thank you

Hello Denise
Just as a quick guide, your Directors Loan comprises of any funds you may have drawn from the business for personal use. You are not allowed to leave this overdrawn, and thus one would declare dividends to compensate.
