Description
Experience Level: Entry
We are a small and growing social enterprise based in the West Midlands. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Finance Administrator to join our team remotely for 12–15 hours per month. The work will be spread across the start, mid, and end of each month to support key financial and operational tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Raise and send accurate monthly invoices to commissioners (e.g., local authority finance departments)
Support credit control and maintain strong professional relationships
Collate timesheets from PAYE staff and invoices from subcontractors for monthly payroll
Track income, expenditure, and cashflow
Support the CEO in monitoring budgets across multiple grants and funding streams, helping ensure accurate allocation and reporting
Reconcile bank statements
Support preparation for annual accounts and ad hoc reporting
Working Structure & Support:
You will report directly to the CEO
You will work alongside a qualified board member with financial expertise who provides oversight
You will also liaise with our external accountancy firm, who handles payroll and year-end accounts
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a finance admin support role (ideally invoicing and data handling)
Strong proficiency in Excel, with experience keeping accurate and well-structured records
Comfortable using FreeAgent (or similar cloud-based accounting software)
Familiarity with Asana or similar project management tools
Highly organised, proactive, and dependable
Able to work independently and communicate clearly
Other Details:
Remote role (UK-based candidates only for ease of communication)
Flexibility in working pattern, but availability required around start, middle, and end of each month
Initially offered on a trial basis for up to 3 months, with potential for ongoing work if successful
References will be required prior to appointment
Hourly rate: £15-20 dependent on level of experience
If you're a conscientious admin professional who takes pride in accurate work and wants to contribute to an organisation making a difference for children and families, we’d love to hear from you.
