Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are seeking an experienced Financial Analyst / Financial Modeler to build a comprehensive, dynamic 3-statement Excel forecasting model for our business including a full revenue generation forecast model.
Our operations combine recurring compliance maintenance renewals, service upselling, technical file fees, and multiple construction/installation project pipelines (e.g., Height Safety, Abseil Projects, Height Access, and Direct Product Sales).
We need a clean, flexible, and fully integrated financial model that connects lead conversion metrics, operational capacity, granular revenue schedules, debt servicing, and full 3-statement financial outputs.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Multi-Stream Revenue Engine (10+ Revenue Lines)
Build dynamic operational drivers for 10+ distinct revenue streams divided into two main categories:
Compliance & Recurring Services: Renewal streams (e.g., Project 26, Year-1 renewals), End-of-Service-Life cycles, Technical Files, and attach/upsell logic (e.g., rust treatments, tensioners).
Project & Construction Pipelines: Multi-tier project pipelines (Abseil, Height Safety, Height Access, Blinds, Consultancy, and Internal/External Product Sales).
Incorporate conversion conversion rates (lead-to-opportunity, quote-to-order), sales cycle lag (days quote-to-order), and WIP (Work In Progress) revenue realization timing.
Operations & Capacity Planning
Model headcount requirements, qualifier/identifier ratios, and operational effort required to deliver on projected sales volumes.
Full 3-Statement Model Integration
Link revenue and expense drivers into a dynamic Income Statement (P&L), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement (CFS).
Model working capital dynamics (Debtors/Creditors days, inventory/WIP timing).
Debt & Capital Structure Schedules
Build dynamic schedules for existing/new debt (principal, interest, amortization schedules) and account for specific capital transactions (e.g., intercompany loan write-downs).
Best-Practice Financial Modeling Standards
Adhere strictly to industry standard financial modeling conventions (e.g., FAST modeling standards: blue font for hardcoded inputs, black font for formulas, standard grid formatting).
Build dynamic scenario toggles (Base, Upside, Downside) and sensitivity tables for key conversion rates and sales velocity.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Expert-Level Excel & Financial Modeling: Proven track record of building dynamic, multi-tab financial models from scratch for mid-market or growth businesses.
Complex Revenue Modeling Experience: Expertise in modeling hybrid business models combining SaaS/recurring revenue logic with construction/contract WIP pipelines.
3-Statement Mastery: Deep understanding of accounting principles to ensure flawless balance sheet balancing and cash flow linking.
Standardized Formatting: Strict adherence to clean formatting guidelines (color coding, clean tab layout, auditability, avoiding circular references).
Clear Communication: Ability to translate messy operational inputs and historical data into clear logical model assumptions.
How to Apply
When submitting your proposal, please provide:
Relevant Portfolio / Examples: 1–2 anonymized examples or screenshots of complex Excel models you have built (specifically 3-statement models, WIP pipeline drivers, or multi-stream revenue engines).
Approach & Estimated Hours: A brief description of how you would structure this project and an estimated timeframe/cost to complete.
Question Response: In 2 sentences, explain how you handle quote-to-order lag and WIP revenue recognition in Excel without creating circular references.

When do you want this completed by Brook?

Hi Brook,
Will you be providing the historical financials and operational data for the model? Also, do you already have preferred forecast periods (e.g., monthly for 3–5 years)?
Thanks.
