Bookkeeping Guidance

Hi all,

I need someone to help guide me through the bookkeeping process from start to finish on a high level to enable me to carry out the bookkeeping of a business accurately and effectively.

For e.g. I have entered all purchase invoices and sales invoices, and know that I need to enter payments made. Is there anything else to this process that I am missing? I have recognised that some invoices need to be capitalised and then amortised. What is the best way to do this?

What else do I need to do to ensure the accounts are up-to-date? What do I need to know in order to complete year end reports?
