Business Strategy Consultant for Launch of Inclusive Marketing & Brand Growth Consultancy Focused on Africa
Overview
I am seeking a strategic business consultant or small advisory firm to support the development and launch of a marketing-focused consultancy that connects global brands with African consumers in a relevant, inclusive, and effective way. The consultancy will leverage my experience in the UK advertising and marketing industry—particularly in inclusive marketing, brand growth strategy, and sustainability—and will serve as both a marketing advisory and a strategic intermediary between global brands and African markets.
The vision is to build a specialist consultancy that helps UK- and US-based brands grow across Africa by offering culturally relevant marketing services. These services may include market and consumer insights, inclusive brand strategy development, creative and campaign advisory, effectiveness and measurement frameworks, and access to a curated network of African marketing experts across disciplines. Longer-term, the business may expand to other emerging markets with similar dynamics.
Project Objectives
The appointed consultant will work with me to:
Define a clear business mission, vision, and strategic value proposition.
Position the consultancy as a unique partner for inclusive, Africa-focused brand growth.
Identify high-potential service offerings based on market needs and personal strengths.
Develop a robust business plan.
Include market opportunity analysis, competitive positioning, service blueprint, revenue model, and go-to-market roadmap.
Conduct target client and market research.
Identify ideal client profiles (e.g. CMOs, brand managers, ESG leads) and their core needs.
Map the landscape of demand for inclusive, insight-driven marketing in emerging markets.
Undertake competitor analysis.
Research direct and indirect competitors operating in the same or adjacent spaces.
Benchmark service models, pricing, client segments, and positioning strategies.
Identify white space and differentiation opportunities for this new venture.
Advise on company structure and registration.
Provide guidance on the appropriate legal structure (e.g. limited company) and assist with Companies House registration.
Design the go-to-market and brand positioning strategy.
Clarify core messaging, client targeting, outreach strategies, and marketing channels.
Support development of launch narrative and initial business development materials.
Create foundational tools and materials.
Assist with the creation of pitch decks, service brochures, proposal templates, and a brief for an initial website (if needed).
Ideal Consultant Profile
Proven experience supporting marketing, creative, or consulting businesses through early-stage growth.
Strong capabilities in market research, business model development, and competitive analysis.
Understanding of African marketing, branding, and consumer trends is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with UK company formation processes and professional services environment.
Able to work collaboratively and deliver practical, high-quality strategic outputs.
Engagement Details
Start Date: Immediate or by mutual agreement
Duration: Initial engagement estimated at 4–6 weeks
Location: Remote, with regular UK-time virtual check-ins
