Freelance Business Rates Lead – Remote (Bristol Portfolio)
We are seeking an experienced freelance business rates specialist to manage and advise on our portfolio of properties.
Key Responsibilities:
• Act as lead contact for Bristol City Council, the Valuation Office Agency (VOA), and other bodies.
• Identify and secure discounts, reliefs, and exemptions to reduce rates liabilities.
• Provide a clear overview of liabilities and opportunities across multiple sites.
• Deliver accurate reporting, forecasts, and strategic advice to directors.
Requirements:
• Proven track record in UK business rates and successful appeals.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with councils and the VOA.
• Ability to manage multiple properties and deadlines.
• Knowledge of the hospitality/events sector is a plus, but not essential.
Engagement: Freelance contract (scope and hours flexible).
Location: Remote (occasional site visit to Bristol if required).
