The Position
Associate Director–London Office
Objective of the Position
To provide leadership support to our London office in the three key functional areas of: a) strategy; b) business development and; c) business management.
The position will require an experienced self-driven freelance Director to work on a performance-based remuneration contract. The successful candidate will work closely with the leadership team based in Kampala, Uganda.
Key tasks of the position
Strategy-To lead the process of developing the Firm’s strategy for the European market particularly in expanding work in the development sector focusing on funding to Africa-based initiatives
Business development- Lead the business development initiatives in Europe with demonstrated business development abilities in the professional services industry
Marketing- Lead the marketing strategy for professional services in a highly competitive environment with focus on public sector development business
Management Consulting- Lead in developing innovative client service delivery methodologies within the professional services industry
Required experience
• Strong strategic planning abilities with an international multi-cultural outlook
• Proven experience in strategic planning in the professional services industry
• Exposure to development business with interest in funding to Africa- knowledge of the working arrangements for leading development agencies [e.g DFID, EU, USAID, The World Bank e.t.c] would be desirable
• Understanding of the public sector management practices
• Strong experience in marketing of professional services
• Knowledge of the public-private partnerships arrangements particularly in the developing economies
• Working experience with International Non-governmental organisations including Charity Organisations
• Experience in engaging with public sector stakeholders at supranational, national and sub-national levels
• Expertise in management consultancy is desired but may not be a limiting factor
Required qualifications
• First degree in business or related discipline
• Accounting professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ACA
