Hello there!
I hope you all are well.
So... I need your help to create workbook in excel.
My Excel level is okish, beginner/ basic.
I'll try to explain as good as I can what I want you to create.
I work as furniture maker/designer.
I work in Sketchup. Sketchup is able to generate report - in HTML or CSV format.
Massive table , ton of data that I don't need.
One of columns have data that I'm interested in. Named "Description". I have collected all info in that column and in order.
Red - Carcass Data: Index, Assembly, Part Name.
Green - Panel Data: Index, Assembly, Part Name, Length, Width, Thickness, Qty, Material Type, Material Name, Note, Edging Code.
Before I Copied that data, Filtered, Text to column and so on.
I'm after a list of components, panels, cabinets that I could give to cabinet makers to work with.
This is how I want to work:
1. Open Workbook and link (press a button) to that HTML file.
2. Data is imported, mapped to columns, Filtered, Grupped by "assembly" duplicates deleted and sumed up.
3. Blank line is inserted between "assembly" groups just to easier to read it.
Worksheets.
Home: To insert basic data and link button is there.
All in: All component data is there - grouped by "Assembly" value. No duplicates-All summed up and QTY column value adjusted.
All in - Print: Simplified data - ready to by printed,
Carcassing - Print: Filtered, show if INDEX=CAB
Deco - Print: Filtered, show if INDEX=DEC
Drawers - Print: Filtered, show if INDEX=DRW
Plinth - Print: Filtered, Show if INDEX=PLT
Ironmongery Worksheets - Just leave them as they are for now - I need to think how I want to see them.
Number column - just numbers : 1,2,3 and so on.
Group all by "Assembly" value. Each group would start with Carcass data and fallow with panel data.
A blank line is needed between groups.
Fell free to do what needs to be done.
If additional worksheet is needed - go for it.
Also original HTML file could change - so i need to be able refresh data.
