Description
Experience Level: Expert
Remote Customer & Schools Administrator
Part-time | Remote | Approx. 6–8 hours per week during busy periods
Start date: Monday 7 September 2026
We’re looking for a friendly, personable and organised remote administrator to help us look after our parents, customers and the schools we work with during our busy start-of-term period.
For us, this role is about more than simply answering emails. We want every parent who contacts us to have a warm and personable experience — to feel listened to, looked after and confident that there is a friendly person at the other end who is happy to help.
The Role
You’ll help us stay on top of customer and school communication, particularly during our busy start-of-term periods.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Responding promptly to enquiries from parents and schools
* Providing friendly, helpful and personalised responses
* Making sure enquiries are followed through and people aren’t left waiting
* Sending schools any documents, forms or information they require
* Following up on outstanding enquiries where necessary
* Keeping emails and basic administration organised
* Keeping track of anything that still needs a response or action
* Passing anything that requires the business owner’s attention on promptly
This is not a bookkeeping, payments or finance role. The focus is on great communication, customer care and keeping the administration running smoothly.
Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is naturally warm, friendly and good with people.
You’ll need to be:
* Friendly, personable and approachable
* A strong written communicator
* Professional and confident when communicating with schools
* Naturally helpful and customer-focused
* Organised and reliable
* Proactive and able to use your initiative
* Comfortable working independently and remotely
* Able to take ownership of an enquiry and make sure it gets dealt with
* Able to communicate naturally rather than relying on generic or robotic responses
Previous experience in administration, customer service, school administration or virtual assistance would be helpful, but personality, communication and reliability are particularly important to us.
Hours
We anticipate approximately 6–8 hours per week during our busy start-of-term period, with some flexibility depending on demand.
The hours don’t necessarily need to be worked in one block. What’s more important is being able to check in at different points during the working week so parents and schools receive timely responses.
As the start-of-term rush settles down, the hours are likely to reduce, with the possibility of further support during future busy periods.
Pay
£15–£20 per hour, depending on experience.
Start Date
Monday 7 September 2026
Ideally, we’d like to get you set up beforehand so you’re familiar with how we work, common enquiries and the documents schools may need before the busy period begins.
How to Apply
If this sounds like a role you’d enjoy, we’d love to hear from you.
Please send us a short introduction telling us a little about yourself, any relevant experience you have, your availability during normal UK working hours and your hourly rate.
Above all, we’re looking for someone who is friendly, reliable and genuinely enjoys helping people — someone we can trust to give our parents and schools the same warm, personable experience that we would ourselves.
