Hi
I've had a recurring issue with my Mac that has followed me over from my last two Macs. It's software related and I'd love to find a way to resolve it once and for all.
Every hour or so my laptop tries to do a reset. Normally I have at least one program open with unsaved work so it will say, "Do you want to save your work" - this prompt will mean I can press cancel and stop the reset but it will likely have closed a couple of programs in the meantime.
I first had this issue a couple of years ago and couldn't resolve it. I've since bought a new Mac and used the Mac transfer program to carry across all my programs, files and settings. I had hoped that this reset issue wouldn't be transferred but it has which means that it's a software issue.
I know I could resolve it by doing a fresh install on my laptop and installing everything one at a time but I don't wish to do that.
I'm hoping the right person will be able to help me diagnose this - presumably by having some sort of logging system going so we can identify what it is which is causing this. It's not the Mac software update prompt as I'm up to date and as far as I can tell it's not the Microsoft Autoupdater.
