Description
Experience Level: Expert
Hello freelancers!
SpeedWeed is an online menu/ordering system for legal cannabis companies in California. Marijuana is legal in California. We do not sell marijuana products. We provide a web site for legal businesses to show their menu. We have been in business since 2011 and our company is fully legal but if you are uncomfortable with cannabis, you should pass.
We have added several new clients to the site and we need to gather photos and descriptions for their products. There are about 400 products, but we will just be working on 100 for this project. I will provide the list of products for you.
Our products are displayed here:
https://www.speedweed.com/shop/
We are looking for high-quality photos, and good descriptions of the products. You do not have to write original content (but if you want to, great!). You should be able to find everything you need using Google. Good resources for descriptions and images:
* weedmaps.com
* leafly.com
Some sites block copy paste, but if you use Chrome, you can use these two extensions: "Allow Select And Copy" and "Lightshot" which would work well for this kind of project.
A question has come up about copyright. Almost all of the products will have images and descriptions that we can use without violating copyright because the content comes from the manufacturer. If you would like to use a description that someone else has written, you should modify it so as not to violate anyone's copyright.
An example of a good product is here:
https://www.speedweed.com/shop/our-stores/canndescent-calm-3-5g/
This is a good product because:
1. The main image shows the packaging AND the product
2. The additional images are high quality images of the product inside the package
3. The "Short Description" is straight from the manufacturer's site. It should tell a little bit about the product, but should only be a paragraph.
4. The detailed description goes into more detail about the product, contains links to the manufacturers website and links to articles about them.
5. There is a nice video relating to the product.
You might not be able to find all of these details online but with some effort and creativity, all products should be able to come close.
Content should be delivered like this:
1. Create a folder for each product. Name the folder with the product name from the web site.
2. Inside the folder, a text file called "short description" with the text. (No HTML needed).
3. Inside the folder, a text file called "long description" with the text. (No HTML needed).
4. Inside the folder, all product images with the main image called "main".
5. Inside the folder, a text file called "misc" with any information, links to videos, links to articles that you think would be useful.
6. Zip all product folders into one zip file.
More work available!
