Description of excel work: Hi,
I am looking for the attached spreadsheet to be used as the main source of information for my market.
This is for us to record how many people in the UK are working within each different position within different sectors in our industry, for market research purposes.
Sheet names "Info pasted", this is where all the info will be copied and pasted in the format shown. There will be thousands posted here on a ongoing basis, this is just a sample to show what it looks like.
Looking for info to be automatically extracted from "infopasted" into "extraction" sheet.
then the challenging bit, using the information on extraction sheet - create a stats sheet :
All positions, jobs titles shown. It must seperate all by location (column D Extraction) :
Scotland
North West England
North East England
South West England
South East England
Wales
Ireland
and then after location into industry :
FMCG
General Manufacturing
Fabrication / Precision
Transport
Energy / Process
Defence / Electronics
Pharmaceutical / Life Sciences
Biotechnology / Medical Devices
This should allow us to then see how many people are in our market, for example :
how many managing directors within transport in Scotland
how many production managers within electronics / defence in North West England etc..
There is alot of variants and combinations therefore keen to get someones idea's on how we put this onto one sheet to view.
once done we should be able to export information to a infograph (with a drop down box allowing us to select either/or location and industry) and it will pull up the relevant infograph for this.
ideas welcome
thanks
