Creating an Excel data base for my manufacturing pipeline

Hello

We are a computer Refurbishment company and I want to create a database for our refurbishment pipeline

We will have an excel sheet with all our laptops with serial numbers, asset ID and specifications

I want to do the following
move computers from one department to another one by scanning it and change the location on the master sheet to say where is this item and if it is done or not.

here is how I want the database to function

- every department will have to scan each item as it come to them
- when the serial number is scanned into a department the rest of the data cells related to this order needs to be copied from master sheet
- the master database need to change for this item when the item is scanned in a certain department
- once each department changed the status for an item to say it is done the master sheet need to also change


I have 9 to 10 department
