Description
Experience Level: Entry
General information for the business: Financial Firm
Industry: Business
Description of excel work: See attached spreadsheet. The first tab reports monthly returns for various market indexes. I would like the second tab to illustrate various period returns (i.e. latest month, quarter, year, etc.). I've hard coded the formula for the QTD return which is essentially the product of the most recent three months.
I would like to update this formula so that it always pulls the latest three months. I don't want to update it every time I add a month to the "Monthly Data" tab. In other words, I'd like the formula to pull the latest three months, the latest year-to-date period, trailing year(s), etc. automatically, every time a month is added to the first tab.
I think this is relatively simple using an offset or dynamic range but can't seem to figure it out and have spent far too much time trying!
Thanks in advance for your help.
