Basic research and data entry

We have a list of about 500 UK cities. We need someone to find the corresponding counties (for example: "London" corresponds to the "Greater London" county) and enter the information in an Excel file.

The second part of the job is to reduce a list of 2000 industries to about 200-300 industries. We have a list of 2000 industries (business categories) with a lot of industries affiliated to each other. This list needs to be reduced to 200-300 industries.

To explain this, here is an example. The list contains the following entries:

Computer Bureau & Facilities Management
Computer Consultants
Computer Consumables & Stationery
Computer Games
Computer Maintenance & Repairs
Computer Mnfrs
Computer Security
Computer Support & Services
Computer Systems & Software (Development)
Computer Systems & Software (Sales)
Computer Training
Concert Halls

All those entries need to be attached to a single entry which could be named: "Computer Services"

Another example:

Electric Motor Mnfrs
Electric Motor Sales & Service
Electrical Distribution Companies
Electrical Engineers
Electrical Goods Sales Mnfrs & Wholesalers
Electrical Heating Equipment & Systems
Electrical Wholesalers
Electricians & Electrical Contractors
Electricity Companies
Electricity Generating & Distributing Equipment
Electronic Component Mnfrs & Distributors
Electronic Engineers
Electronic Equipment - Mnfrs & Assemblers
Electronic Equipment Components & Instruments - Design And

All those entries can be attached to a single industry which could be named "Electricals" (or anything else you deem better)
