Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are a company which s 7 years old and employs 23 people currently, but growing at a rate of about one employee a month over the next 6-9 months. It is surprising us how much time and resource is being taken up with writing job descriptions, placing advertisements, shortlisting candiates, arranging interviews, writing offer letters, doing the admin and orchestrating a quality induction into the business...
At this point, the Directors' have a view that we should be consciously engineering a corporate culture and behaving like a much bigger organisation so that this grwoth transition phase is managed correctly, bringing people along, nurturing talent and setting up systems that are robust and scaleable - this requires someone strong, pro-active and experienced who will be able to focus and concentrate on this very important aspect of business management whilst the existing team(s) focus on their core tasks on a daily basis...
We were rather hoping there is someone out there who is looking for some semi-regular work, initially 2 days a week and 'tbc' after things have been set up for us? At this point, we will need someone to keep on top of the ongoing culture changes, housekeeping, arranging and conducting quarterly reviews with the team, etc...
We are an agency, based in London W10.
Anyone with previous HR experience would be of course our preferred route, and we want to listen to any advice that you may have in terms of developing an incentive programme and innovative ways to sustain staff motivation and morale, etc...
We have the full services and support of Peninsula in terms of staff contracts, official papers, disciplinary procedures etc, but they are a phone based service. Simply, we need 'mothering' and taken under someone's wing who would enjoy the challenge of developing the department from scratch, as we now find ourselves emplying 2 dozen people without an HR function and we are beginning to creak a little bit!! :)
Hours to suit, although ideally 9am to 6pm (an hour for lunch). Average age of the team circa 31-33, 60/40 Male/Female mix, 3,000 sq ft office space with kitchenette, pool table, table football, meeting rooms and plenty of break-out space...
Should be an exciting project for someone up for the challenge!
