Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
My name is Josh and I'm a faculty advisor for a an engineering project that completed last spring. My hobby is high altitude ballooning www.starduster.info and they built me a device that is to measure altitude (through barometric pressure sensor) and upon reaching an altitude, open a solenoid to release helium and allow the balloon to loiter for a period of time, and then release the helium and let the balloon payload come back down to earth.
When the project completed, they neglected to document their code, and frankly it wasn't ready for flights to 80,000 feet.
I'd like to talk through what I think is probably a simple job of coding an aduino for a device already built. 2-3 user defined variables and 6-7 'states' of climb, loiter, and descent.
Thanks
Josh
