Hello, I have a web design agency and I need to assure it is GDPR compliant. I have had an initial consultation a month or two back and understand the concept and what is needed. We are a remote agency so we do not store any information on local computers or have any paperwork. Below is a breakdown of how I understand our situation.
- We have a website, we need a notification when users enter the website asking their permission to use cookies. We also need a tick box on our contact forms giving us permission to use their information.
- We use Google Analytics
- We use Mailchimp which we have a list of exisiting clients. These did not give us permission prior to being added. I would suggest we send out a newsletter informing them that if they no longer wish to be part of our newsletter to unsubscribe.
- We host with UKFast and TSO Host. This is managed hosting and both are GDPR compliant.
- We keep emails that clients send to us and they are stored on Gmail, not locally.
- We have a client portal which allows us to invoice our clients. This has their names and contact details. We accept no direct payments.
- We use Google Drive and Drop Box to share and store ongoing project details.
I believe everything is rather straight forward, I just need some advice and the necessary documents drawn up. I am then looking to notify my clients and hopefully proceed with the same position working with my clients.
EU Applications Only. Please do not apply from India/Pakistan

Hi Guy,
I'm no expert on this so want be applying, but just on point 3 I believe under the new legislation your clients will have to opt-in to receiving newsletters, not opt-out, so I'd word your newsletter accordingly.
All the best,
SamGuy C.01 Mar 2018Thanks Sam for the heads up!
