Description
Experience Level: Expert
We are a UK-based business information research and publishing company with offices in London and Nottingham. A new area of our work involves -
1) Telephone research to identify key decision makers and influencers and to determine their broad attitudes to challenges their organisations may be facing internally and externally and to learning more about the availability / value of related products and services.
into specific information technology issues facing a group of about 100 major UK businesses and the impact of these issues on the companies concerned. We require to identify and talk to up to 40 key people across IT, Operations, Supply Chain, General management, Finance, Marketing and Sales within each company. A broad knowledge of IT terminology would be an asset and an understanding of business matters generally would be very helpful. We plan to run a pilot for a couple of companies and if this is successful, a longer term research project covering all of the target organisations and potentially other telephone research opportunities are likely to arise.
While this is not a selling role, it may as an end goal, or as a follow up objective, involve obtaining appointments for other people involved with the project. Many of the attributes of a sales role are essential, such as having a confident, friendly, professional and persuasive telephone manner, good organisational skills, persistence, the ability to work unsupervised and to converse at all levels of an organisation. Along with these are the need for efficiency coupled with IT competency and report-writing skills.
