Description
Experience Level: Expert
This job requires an overview to be provided of each of the main client-facing professions within the UK business and financial services sector, including:
- accounting consultancy firms
- actuarial consultancy firms
- legal consultancy firms
- management consultancy firms
- tax consultancy firms, and
- any other category of consultancy firm in the UK business and financial services sector that the researcher identifies as important
For each profession the following information is needed:
- current number of professionally qualified members (and historical numbers over the last 3 years)
- current number of students of the profession studying towards qualification (and historical numbers over the last 3 years)
- average length of time taken to fully qualify in the profession
- high-level summary of how employee numbers are split between employers of different sizes (e.g. what percentage are employed by firms with less than 100 employees, greater than 100 but less than 1000, or greater than 1000)
- high-level summary of regular profession publications read / viewed by fully qualified members or students of the profession. This should include the following information: name of publication / website; frequency of publication; number of average monthly unique readers / viewers; an indication as to whether the publication / website currently accepts advertising by parties external to the profession
- recommendations as to any other medium which could be used to reach students of the profession (e.g. events attended predominantly by students of the profession; publications read predominantly by students of the profession etc)
The researcher should write up their findings in a short report. The length of the report will be discussed with the appointed researcher but we currently envisage it running to no more than 10 pages, of which a significant proportion will be tables / charts of numbers rather than text.
Discretion rests with the researcher as to the format used for their report but the emphasis should be on the quality of the findings rather than the report\'s appearance.
During the course of the work the researcher may be provided with commercially sensitive information. Therefore the work will be awarded conditional upon the researcher signing a Non-Disclosure Agreement ahead of being formally appointed.
We would like bids to be submitted on a fixed price basis.
This piece of research is one in a series of three that will be posted in early October.
Please do let me know if you need any additional information.
