Description
Experience Level: Expert
I am a PhD student in Astrophysics. I an not an expert on computer graphics!
I have carried out large scale simulations of Galaxy evolution using hundreds of thousands of particles to represent the stars in the Galaxy. I have created a simple animation of the galaxy by outputting 500 gif files and viewing it as a movie in Quicktime. The viewing angle is fixed in a birds-eye view. The code was written in Fortran. The ascii files at each time-step contain 3D position data (x,y,z) and velocity data (Vx,Vy,Vz).
However I would like an expert in graphics or opengl etc to help make the movie considerably more attractive to the eye. This may include viewing angle changes, including lighting effects etc.
