Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
I gave a UK web design company a project, they took on the work and were not able to deliver, things were taking so long we got other professional developers to take a look at the work they gave us access to and they discovered it was loaded with so many problems it will need to be developed again.
The company would not provide any time frames upon multiple requests, and the work they say they have done they have not provided despite multiple requests. What they have provided is incomplete, badly coded, and unusable.
The work they carried out was very poor and bad practices used throughout, they even hid the warning messages which show there are errors in the code so I would not see them.
The job is so poor that we have to start again with a new freelancer which is costing more money and a lot of time lost to our business start up.
I'm looking to recover the money we have paid them upfront which is £5500.
A clean contract was signed between us in July 2011, however we had a branding issue and had to change our name which led to a time delay of 4 months as the website design needed to change and be redesigned. There were a few alterations to the overall website spec, but nothing really substantial and all the core functionality was the same.
Not sure on what fees to expect so open for bids and can provide a copy of the contract upon request.
Looking for advice, a letter to be written, and assistance with court.
