Properties are searched against by reference to the Title Number or address. You do not know who definitely owns a property until you have downloaded office copy entries. You cannot search for properties by reference to name only. Office copy entries cost £3 for the Register and £3 for a title plan.
You must therefore have the address first. Unless you know roughly where the person lived i.e. the number and road, and preferably the post code, you can spend a lot of money trying to find out whether a person owned a property.Paul H.18 Aug 2018Hi thanks for your reply

Susan N.18 Aug 2018You have to do the search on a form PN1 and it costs £11 per name. The person has to have a connection with the name being searched against, such as being a Trustee in Bankruptcy or a Personal Represenative. You can't just search against a name unless you have some connection to it.
