Description
Experience Level: Entry
Hi,
I purchased a car from www.qualitypartxltd.co.uk. Prior to purchase, the car was advertised with full dealer's service history.
When we arrived to view the ar, we noticed the car had not been serviced for almost 2 years so the salesperson convinced us that it is still having a full dealer service history and yes there is a service pending right now. He suggested getting the service done ourselves to maintain the main dealer's history but if anything wrong found the service they will cover it. I, therefore, got everything in writing stating that everything is covered for the 1st month until I get the service done and engine and gearbox afterwards for further 3 months.
As a part of the agreement, we got the car booked at Ascot Jaguar and got the service done. They, however, found many things wrong.
The garage now saying instead of getting the stuff sorted, they will take the car back. I am happy with that but I do believe we should receive the additional cost of service £400 that we have paid. I got the service done because they advised me to get it done myself and will cover for any fault found during the service. The fact that Jaguar confirmed the car is missing two services (excluding the one I had done) clearly indicates the car was missold. The seller also can't simply sell a vehicle with full cover and ask an individual to get some work done so, later on, they can ask for it to be returned. means they get a full major service done for free.
I would like to send a letter before action for the total price paid £9500 but will also want them to pay for the cost of major service £385.
Since jaguar recommended, I also purchased two tyres, changed the broken key, and got the fuel tank issues sorted independently costing another £400, but since I can keep the tyres for next vehicle, I don't wish to claim anything else but the purchase price + the cost of service.
Alternatively, I would like them to resolve the issues as per the purchase agreement.

To engage a professional legal practitioner with experience in litigation matters, your budget is woefully inadequate. is it figurative or an expectation? You would be looking at a significant amount more than that.
