Description
Experience Level: Expert
Estimated project duration: Ongoing
i recently completed a job awarded via an independent agent and the client decided to stop correspondence and not pay for any of the work.
The amount held was a small deposit and does not cover the remaining outstanding fee's from the client. The job I completed covered the initial brief as well as additional work which the buyer requested afterwards and also agreed to pay an additional fee. Once the completed work was sent to the client he then responded with a new brief which he wanted me to complete. Once i advised the client that this was again an additional fee he stopped correspondence with no explanation. Following several attempt to re-engage the client I am still completely in the dark.
I've gone through the standard procedure which has been a waste of time so now I feel that without any other options I want to pursue the client independently for the outstanding fee via a debt recovery agent.
The amount owed is relatively small so this is not about the money but this client should not be allowed to get away with this undetected.
I'm told that due to the recent General Data Protection Regulation GPDR the agent cannnot disclose the clients contact details and rightly so. However, they have said that they will disclose the clients information if i provide the correct legal request.
In order that i can pursue the debt recovery I would basically like a solicitor to provide the necessary legal letter I need to submit in order that they release the contact details of the client.
I have attached the work stream as provided in an email with screen shot from correspondence.
Any questions please let me know and i'll respond asap.
