Description
Experience Level: Entry
I am making a disability discrimination claim against my previous employer who happens to be a major Government Department.
I am representing myself and the hearing is set for December 9 and 10 at London South Employment Tribunal.
I have however just been granted legal help under the Community Legal Advice scheme which in itself is quite an achievement given the very limited financial resources available. So whilst I am now in receipt of proper legal advice from a solicitor they will not be able to represent me on the day.
The case preparation is well advanced having had a Case Management Hearing and a Case Management Order has been made and several deadlines have already been met.
The solicitor is picking things up at the stage where I am agreeing the documents listing and the content on the bundle however the respondent is not playing ball and for the second time a request for an order for disclosure has been applied for to the Tribunal Judge.
The next deadline is for the exchange of witness statements which I will get legal help with. After that I am pretty much on my own and will have to represent myself at the Full Hearing which is not a problem given what I have done on my own thus far.
I should point out that I am a blind person and am looking for some one to give me more like moral support leading up to and on the two days of the hearing.
I would think this may be of interest to a legal student or some one who themselves has had some experience of or an interest in an Employment Tribunal.
So it is not a job as such but I am looking for offers from genuine people who emphasise with my situation. I am happy to discuss travel expenses, meal allowances and nominal payment for your time but I stress that I am not in a position to pay vast amounts of money.
You must be honest, sincere and have a genuine interest in helping me.
