We are working on a project where we are deploying a HyperV cluster with a bunch of Virtual Machines. This is the primary site of the client and has about 200 Computers accessing these VMs 24X7. This site will have Veeam running onsite backups
We are looking to setup a DR site in a different location connected to the primary site over 1Gb MPLS connection.
The DR site will also have a mirror configuration of the primary site in terms of the hardware and will have Veeam sending replication backups from the primary site so that there are standby VMs replicated and updated every minute. In case of a disaster when the cluster at primary site would go down, we can trigger Veeam to fire up the VMs at the DR site which will take a few minutes.
An important point to note is that the routing whether static or dynamic will need to be handled by the layer 3 switches at each site as the Firewalls installed at both sites are managed by the head office as per the company policy.
Our Question - We are looking for advice on the Dynamic Routing of traffic in the Layer 3 switch, so that when the VMs fire up at the DR site the traffic from 200 computers at primary site get automatically routed to the DR site.
