Description
Experience Level: Entry
Excel wizard needed for small and simple project. Knowledge of VLookUp/table arrays/conditional formulas will be needed.
My situation:
I export my bank statements as XLS spreadsheets. I want to create a rough calculation of the amount of tax I need to pay. This will be calculated by:
1. Using the "Transaction Description" text to identify whether the transaction is a taxable income or not (this means I will require a table perhaps on another sheet of distinct values from the Transactions Description column). I need to be able to manually check a list of (distinct) transaction description text values and mark whether these are Income Taxable or not.
2. Once a transaction has been identified as a taxable income, I want to simply apply a flat rate of tax (20%) to return the taxable value in another column. This will result in two columns: one of the taxable value of that single transaction, and one column showing cumulative tax up to that period. This would help me, as throughout the year as I export and add my XLS bank statement records, I can have a rough idea of how much tax I need to put away to pay at the end of the financial year.
It's as simple as that. Quick and simple job for the right person. I'm essentially paying for the formulas and excel template which is suited to my needs, as I want to use the same template for different XLS sheets from different bank accounts. I can provide you with the sample bank statement sheet so you know the data we'll be working with. Let me know how you would approach the problem. Looking for a quick timeframe and fixed cost.
I am open to alternative solutions and suggestions for enhanced functionality, for the right price.
Thank you in advance.
