Hello,
I've a few data sets which look at loyalty and satisfaction over many years. Unfortunately, sometimes the variable name changes over the years (though the same variable is measured) and at other times different variables are measured. I need three things---1) Change the names of the common variables and maintain a code sheet to track what's been changed 2) Maintain a 2nd code sheet which states which variables are not repeated across files (and for which years) 3) An aggregated data file (in Excel or STATA or SPSS) which has all the years of the data together with only the variables which are common across files.
There are 4 years of data and 8 total data sets with varying numbers of variables (~50 in each set). The data is in .dta (STATA) format but you can easily transform it using R. I expect this should be a simple enough task.
I'm an academic in the Netherlands and have employed people for ad hoc projects before...even using this very website. I look forward to your interest.
