Description
Experience Level: Intermediate
General information for the business: We sell an online tool for hotels with reviews
Industry: Technology
Description of analysis: I want to have researched the correlation of review scores of hotels in comparison with their rates and number of reviews and location.
in the attached I have taken info from booking.com for 4 star hotels in Maastricht and added their location, total number of reviews, roomrate on certain date, number of rooms in property (and calculated average number of reviews per number of hotel rooms)
Perhaps this needs to be done for more dates and/or more review sites (ie also for tripadvisor)
According to studies of Cornell a higher score results in more business, or hotel can increase rate and maintain occupancy levels. We are selling a reputation tool and want to proof that a high score in reviews results in a more profitable hotel (more reservations - at higher rates).
The location is an important factor ofcourse rate wise as city centre hotels can usually charge more than hotels located outside the city centre.
We need a detailed study where we can prove that higher review scores are more succesful hotels.

Design and target audience: with graphs to support conclusions
